WHY LG

What is Grace?

"The word grace in the Bible actually as a dual meaning. On one hand, it refers to God's undeserved favor toward us. Beyond that, though, it refers to God's power at work in us to accomplish more than we could on our own." (Judah Smith, Jesus is ___.)

Grace is forgiveness.
Grace is kindness.
Grace is unconditional love revealed to the unlovely.
Grace covers all of our sin, every single one.
Grace gives and gives and gives, yet asks for nothing in return.

God realized long ago that we would need guidance in our journey here on earth, so he sends his Grace, he sends his Jesus. Anything good in us is from Him, and we can do nothing good apart from Him (Romans 7:18). God continually pours on his love, covering us in layers and layers of unmerited, unearned grace- "For from his fullness, we have all received grace upon grace." (John 1:16). Our mission is to embrace his grace and to use it as fuel to walk in love, always.

Once we establish a relationship with Jesus, seeing God's fullness just comes naturally. Grace transforms our desires, our motives, and our missions. We strive to be better people. We strive to truly care for others. We strive to put our plans on hold to not only serve those in need, but to rescue them, just as Jesus does.

"Therefore be imitators of God, as beloved children, and WALK IN LOVE, as Christ loved us and gave himself up for us, a fragrant offering and sacrifice to God." Ephesians 5:1-2
